Speed, technology and the forces of nature

The Surfski is a fast and seaworthy kayak designed to handle both waves and flowing water. With its long and narrow shape, it is built for speed, balance and endurance.

Competition distances

Long distance (Thursday afternoon, 15-20 km)
Start in Nissan at Halmstad city center, where the paddlers follow the river out to sea. The course then stretches towards Tylösand and back, with a flexible route in the open sea depending on weather conditions. The race is split roughly equally between calmer waters of the Nissan and more challenging paddling in the sea.

Sprint distance (Friday morning, 5-6 km)
A faster race with the entire route in the Nissan. Start and finish at the center of Halmstad, where the paddlers fight the current and each other in the winding waters of the river.
